The Black Queens will step up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa of Nations (WAFCON) by competing in the Pinks Ladies Cup, a four-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

The competition is scheduled to run from February 28 to March 6, 2026, and is expected to provide a strong competitive platform as the Queens fine-tune their readiness for the WAFCON.

The Pinks Ladies Cup is widely regarded as a high-level preparatory tournament, designed to help teams build match fitness, sharpen tactical awareness and assess squad depth ahead of major international competitions.

Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren is expected to use the tournament to evaluate a blend of experienced players and emerging talents as he continues shaping his squad for WAFCON 2026.

According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Black Queens’ participation in the tournament underscores its commitment, together with support from government, to ensure that the team receives the best possible preparation ahead of WAFCON.

“The Pinks Ladies Cup presents an important opportunity for the Black Queens to test themselves against quality opposition as part of our structured preparation for WAFCON 2026,” part of the statement from the GFA read.
