The Black Queens scheduled friendly match against Raja Casablanca Athletic Women has been called off due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The game was part of their preparations during their tour in Morocco.

Ghana’s women’s national team suffered a last-minute defeat against Morocco on Friday, February 21, 2025, extending their winless run since their 3-1 victory over Namibia in December 2023.

The match against Raja Athletic was meant to provide an opportunity for the team to regain momentum and for newly appointed head coach, Kim Björkegren, to further assess his squad.

However, just minutes before kickoff, the team’s official social media pages confirmed the cancellation, citing circumstances beyond their control.

Currently ranked 66th in the world and fifth in Africa, the Black Queens are eager to bounce back and put on a strong performance at the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Having last competed in the tournament in 2018 and missing the previous edition in Morocco, these friendly matches were intended to help them get back on track for a successful campaign.
