Sharon Sampson delivered a standout performance, scoring twice to lead Piteå IF to a convincing 4–0 victory over Umeå IK in the Svenska Cupen Damer.

The Ghana women’s national football team forward played a decisive role as Piteå dominated proceedings, with her clinical finishing helping the hosts secure an important win in the group stage of the competition.

Piteå started the match strongly and maintained control throughout, creating several chances against a struggling Umeå side. Sampson eventually made the breakthrough with a well-taken finish before adding her second later in the match to cap an impressive individual display.

Her brace proved crucial as Piteå continued to pile pressure on their opponents, eventually running out comfortable 4–0 winners to strengthen their position in the group standings.

The victory keeps Piteå firmly in contention for a place in the next stage of the cup, with Sampson’s goals proving vital at a crucial moment in the campaign.

Piteå will now look ahead to the final round of group matches, where qualification to the knockout stage remains within reach.
