Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has assured that his side will qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
Ghana have had a difficult start to the tournament and is without a win after two games.
The Black Queens kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against South Africa before a 1-1 draw against Mali on Friday.
The results left Ghana at the 3rd place in Group C with just a point.
But ahead of their final group game on Monday night at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, Bjorkegren has called for calm, assuring that they will make it to the quarterfinals.
“We had 2.6 on expected goals as compared to their 0.6 chance of scoring,” the Swiss trainer said after the game against the Malians on Friday night.
“If we display the same performance, if we play like this, we are probably in the quarterfinals. I think I am happy with one point; there is no reason to panic at this point.
“We still have a chance to qualify for the quarterfinals,” he added.
The kick-off for the final group game has been scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT.
