The Black Princesses of Ghana The Black Princesses of Ghana

Assistant coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses, Raymond Fenny, has revealed that preparations are already in motion ahead of the team’s decisive final qualifying tie against Uganda for a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Ghana secured their spot in the final round after edging South Africa 3-2 on aggregate, setting up a two-legged encounter with Uganda in May. The winner over the two legs will book their ticket to the global showpiece in Poland.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Fenny disclosed that the technical team has already begun studying Uganda’s recent matches, particularly their qualifying tie against Zambia as part of efforts to gain a tactical edge.

“We have started analysing their game against Zambia, and then we’ll break camp. I think early April, we should resume camping towards May,” Fenny said.

According to him, Ghana will host the first leg on May 3, 2026 , before travelling away for the return fixture later.

Fenny emphasised the importance of sustaining the high morale within the squad following their hard fought victory over South Africa.

“Morale is high in the camp, and this match against South Africa serves as a basis, so we want to build upon it. That is why we are determined to go to camp as early as possible so that we’ll be able to keep the team,” he added.

The Black Princesses are chasing a historic eighth consecutive appearance at the tournament.
