Ghana’s Black Princesses claimed a vital 2-0 victory away from home against Tunisia in the second round of the U20 Women’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Tayeb Mhiri Stadium in Tunis.

The win puts Ghana in a strong position as they prepare to host the return leg in Accra on September 28, 2025.

The match started brightly for the Black Princesses, with Mercy Attobrah opening the scoring in the fourth minute. Her goal put Ghana ahead and set the tone for the rest of the game.

The team maintained their lead through a strong defensive performance, taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime.

In the 66th minute, Mercy Attobrah once again proved decisive by doubling Ghana’s lead with another well-taken goal. Her brace effectively strengthened the Black Princesses’ grip on the tie, signalling a dominant display against the home side.

The Black Princesses’ disciplined performance paid off as they held on to their 2-0 lead until the final whistle.

This result gives Ghana the momentum it needs going into the second leg, where the team aims to secure qualification for the U20 Women’s FIFA World Cup.
