Members of Ghana’s U-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, are still waiting to receive their per diems weeks after completing their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Tunisia.

The team convincingly beat the North Africans 4-0 on aggregate to reach the next round, but their success has been overshadowed by frustration over unpaid allowances.

Despite assurances from the Ministry of Sports and Recreation that all entitlements have been settled, players and technical staff insist they have yet to receive their money.

According to a Joy Sports report, sources close to the team disclosed that the Ghana Football Association provided each player with a GH¢500 token as a temporary measure while they await the full payment.

The Sports Minister earlier acknowledged the delay and pledged that funds would be released soon, but no progress has been made since.

The development has sparked criticism, especially as the senior national team, the Black Stars, have already received their bonuses and per diems from recent World Cup qualifying games.

The Princesses are expected to reconvene next month to begin preparations for their next qualifying tie against South Africa in February.
