The Black Galaxies of Ghana drew goalless against Nigeria in the 2025 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 22, 2024.

The team controlled most of the game but could not create enough chances to score a goal, which could have put them in an advantageous position going into the second leg in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles Team B had a resolute defence that dealt with the attacking threats from the Black Galaxies, resulting in a goalless draw.

In the second half, Mustapha Yakubu’s strike forced a save from Nigerian goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena to keep the away side in the game.

Nigerian attacker Daniel Mustapha’s powerful strike took a deflection, hit the post, and was cleared by the Ghanaian defenders.

Head coach Didi Dramani brought on Jerry Afriyie and Derrick Fordjour to make an impact and get the needed goal, but that plan did not materialize as they could not penetrate the Nigerian defence to break the deadlock.

The Black Galaxies must win the second leg, which will be hosted in Nigeria on December 28, 2024, to stand a chance of qualifying for the main tournament.

The 2025 CHAN tournament will be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, where Team B of various national teams will battle for honours.
