The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, has reiterated his commitment to development in the constituency during a town hall meeting held at Sekesua on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

The event formed part of a series of engagements with key communities across the district, aimed at addressing pressing developmental concerns and fostering stronger collaboration between leaders and constituents.

The meeting brought together a wide array of stakeholders, including the District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the District Police Commander, religious leaders, traditional authorities (Dademantsemei) from over thirty communities, and opinion leaders.

It was chaired by the Divisional Chief of Asesewa, Nene Offei Tagbadja.

Nene Offei Tagbadja urged residents to set aside partisan politics in favor of collective development. He expressed frustration over frequent power outages in the district and called on the ECG to issue timely bills to prevent unnecessary debt accumulation among consumers.

Bismark Tetteh Nyarko provided updates on major road projects, including the Akatawia to Sumuer Junction road, which was originally contracted in 2016. He explained that efforts under the current administration are re-evaluating the project’s scope, with plans to include additional roads for rehabilitation.

He also highlighted improvements to the Asesewa township roads, which he said remain a priority under the NDC government’s infrastructure agenda.

The MP further assured the District Police Commander of his commitment to enhancing local security, revealing plans to provide motorbikes to improve police mobility in the area.

Meanwhile, the ECG District Manager encouraged residents to promptly report faults through their respective Assembly Members, who can communicate directly with the ECG via a shared platform for quicker response and resolution.
