Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has commended the immediate positive impact of Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman, praising the loanee’s speed, work rate, and “fearless” attacking approach since his arrival at the club.

Osman, who joined Birmingham on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion for the remainder of the season, scored a crucial debut goal in the club’s recent 2-1 victory over Leicester City.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring in the third minute by dispossessing Ricardo Pereira and calmly slotting home, setting the tone for a vital win.

In post-match comments, Davies highlighted the dual qualities that have made Osman an instant asset.

“He’s been a great outlet for us; real speed, loves to be one-v-one. I want him to take risks. I love his positivity; I want him to keep that fearlessness,” the manager said.

He was equally impressed with the winger’s defensive commitment, adding, “What I love most is that he combines that with hard work. He works hard for the team. He will run, he’ll press, and he’ll do the dirty side of the game really well, and he did that.”

The victory, which also featured a spectacular goal from Ghanaian counterpart Abdul Fatawu Issahaku for Leicester, has helped propel Birmingham City to 10th place in the fiercely competitive Championship standings.

For Osman, the early endorsement from his manager and a goal on his debut signal a promising start to his spell in the Midlands as he aims to build consistency and cement his place in the team.
