A Massachusetts painter has sued football coach Bill Belichick for $300,000 after he allegedly got hurt on his $5million Nantucket property.

Andrew Jackson said he and fell during a painting job on Belichick’s Fair Street home in June 2024 due to unsafe working conditions according to the lawsuit, which was first reported by the Nantucket Current and viewed by the Daily Mail.

Jackson claimed the home had improperly maintained plastic sheeting or coverings that are used to protect the floor and furniture, creating a ‘dangerous and unsafe’ environment for him to work in.

While working, Jackson fell, severely injuring his right ankle, the suit alleges. He also suffered from pain, disability, lost wages, and medical expenses, the lawsuit added.

Although Jackson received worker’s compensation through his employer, the painter is suing the football coach for nearly $300,000 for negligence.

‘Defendant owed Plaintiff a duty to use reasonable care to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition, to inspect for hazards, to warn of dangers of which it knew or should have known, and to coordinate the site in a reasonably safe manner for lawful workers present there,’ the lawsuit read.

The painter racked up nearly $61,000 in hospital expenses, as well as $4,600 in doctor’s visits and $2,000 on physical therapy, the civil action cover sheet said.

Jackson also claimed to have lost $167,828.25 in wages and will lose an anticipated $50,000, the court record showed.

Painter Andrew Jackson claimed he severely injured his ankle due to an unsafe working environment while at a job at Bill Belichick’s Nantucket home

In total, Jackson claimed to have lost $285,436.39.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Jackson and Belichick for comment.

Belichick, 73, owns the home with his cheerleader girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, 24, who is 49 years younger than him.

The UNC coach owned multiple properties on the ritzy island at one point, but last summer, he offloaded the home he shared with his ex-wife.

The former Patriots coach has long held ties to Nantucket, and also paid $4.8million for a 2,854-square-foot Nantucket home in 2024.

He also previously purchased a home on the island for $4.6million in 2006, though the home went to his ex-wife, Debby Clarke, when they divorced that year.

However, it’s clear that he has warm feelings for the island nonetheless.

‘The island is spectacular,’ he told N Magazine in 2017. ‘The people are great, fishing, bike paths, the lighthouses, the beach, the history – I mean it’s got it all.’

He is suing Belichick, who is dating 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, for $300,000 for medical expenses and lost wages

Belichick, who began coaching the Patriots in 2000, also bought a home in Massachusetts in 2006 and also owns a condo in Florida, which he purchased in 2009.

The Florida condo, which he bought for $1.6million, is now worth an estimated $3.7million, according to Realtor.

It’s not clear where Belichick and Hudson have been staying in North Carolina since he formally signed on as the Tar Heels’ coach in January 2025.
