The Black Stars of Ghana may be without striker Inaki Williams for the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, following an injury scare on October 4, 2025.
The 31-year-old forward was included in Otto Addo’s 24-man squad for the decisive fixtures against the Central African Republic and Comoros later this month.
However, his participation is now in doubt after picking up an injury in Athletic Club’s 2-1 La Liga victory over RCD Mallorca on Saturday at San Mamés Stadium.
Williams, who had just ended his goal drought in the game, was forced off in the 53rd minute, with his younger brother Nico Williams coming on as his replacement.
Athletic Club has yet to disclose the nature or severity of the injury.
The Black Stars are scheduled to begin their training camp in Casablanca on Sunday, October 5, ahead of the clash with the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8, at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknès.
They will then return home to face Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana requires at least four points from the two matches to seal qualification for their fifth World Cup appearance.
