Former Ghana international Bernard Yao Kumordzi has urged the Black Starlets to give everything on the pitch ahead of their crucial Group D clash against South Africa at the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Kumordzi visited the team during their final training session on Tuesday evening and delivered an inspiring message to the players as they prepare for a decisive encounter that could determine their chances of progressing to the next stage of the tournament and qualifying for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Speaking to the squad after training, the former midfielder encouraged the players to remain focused, determined and committed throughout the game.

“This is the moment for all of you to fight for Ghana and fight for yourselves. Opportunities like this do not come every day in football, so you must give everything on the pitch,” Kumordzi told the players.

He also urged the team never to lose belief regardless of the situation during the match, stressing that football can change quickly.

Kumordzi further praised Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his technical team for their preparation and work with the squad throughout the competition.
