Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, has been named the Ghana Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month for September, following an outstanding run of performances that further underline his rise as one of the country’s top shot-stoppers.

Asare kept three clean sheets in three matches during the month, the best record among all goalkeepers in the division, as he anchored Hearts’ impressive defensive form.

His reflexes, command of the area, and leadership from the back have been instrumental to the Phobians’ steady start under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.

The accolade caps off what has been a remarkable few months for the former Greta Olympics man, who has seamlessly translated his club form to the international stage.

Since making his Black Stars debut earlier in 2025, Asare has firmly established himself as Ghana’s number one goalkeeper, producing a string of assured performances during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

His heroics between the sticks have been vital in Ghana’s push for qualification. Calm under pressure and vocal in organising his defense, Asare has brought a new sense of stability to the national team’s backline.
