Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has attributed his success to hard work, preparation, and a focused mindset.

According to Asare, these factors are essential for achieving success in football.

“As a player, the secret is hard work, training, preparation, and mindset. You have to be aggressive about it because, without these things, you cannot make it as a footballer.”

Asare’s success is a testament to this approach. He earned his first call-up to the Ghana national team following a string of standout performances in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, keeping an impressive 12 clean sheets in 18 appearances for Hearts of Oak.

Asare also credited the support he received from his teammates, particularly senior players like Jordan Ayew, for boosting his confidence.

“As soon as I entered camp, everyone was happy to welcome me, which gave me even more motivation to work hard.”

With his focused mindset and dedication, Asare has proven that local league talent can rise to the highest level and thrive, drawing national attention with his performances.
