Beloved music icon Gloria Gaynor has donated thousands of dollars to MAGA Republicans in recent years, according to a new report.
The I Will Survive singer, 81, contributed $22,000 to Republican groups and candidates since 2023, including Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who received her highest donation of $2160.57, Meidas News reported.
Gaynor also donated $356.15 to Rep. Kevin McCarthy, $114.10 to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and $476.18 to Senator Ted Cruz.
The revelation comes after Gaynor was pressured by several liberals to decline a Kennedy Center honor awarded by President Donald Trump, who has pledged to axe ‘wokeness’ from the center.
Earlier this month, Gaynor was named as one of the Kennedy Center Honors recipients for 2025 and is set to receive the prestigious medal at a ceremony in December.
The View star Ana Navarro was among several commentators urging the songstress to reject the honor.
‘Yesterday, Trump announced he picked her to receive a Kennedy Center Honor, which he plans to host,’ Navarro wrote in a lengthy missive on Instagram on August 14.
‘Look, the woman is a goddess and deserves all the flowers that come her way.

‘But I wish she wouldn’t accept an award from the hands of a man who has attacked the rights and history of women, people of color and LGBTQ,’ the Trump-hating Republican continued, before telling Gaynor who her fanbase was.
‘The gay community, in particular, helped turn her signature song into an anthem. Trump is a stain on the prestige and significance of the KCH.
‘Don’t do it, Gloria!’ she begged.
While Gaynor’s biggest hit, I Will Survive, is an anthem for the LGBTQ community, the singer has remained publicly apolitical and never directly aligned herself with liberal activism.
Trump is set to host the event following his takeover of the federally-funded DC arts venue back in February.
Gaynor said she plans to accept the award and has limited the comments on her Instagram following the announcement.
‘My hope is that in accepting this honor, I can continue with the inspirational phenomenon that began with “I Will Survive,”‘ she said Wednesday in a statement.
‘Sharing my music and art on a global level to provide encouragement, hope, empowerment, inspiration, understanding, and unity is the core of my purpose.

Gaynor previously faced criticism from The View back in May when host Sunny Hostin took issue with her saying she does not see herself as a feminist.
The music icon had said in an interview with Metro that she was ‘not really’ a feminist, adding in what appeared to be an explanation: ‘I love men.’
Gaynor’s songs – many of them chart-topping hits – are still featured in an array of films and TV, with I Will Survive remaining her biggest hit.
She still performs today.
Other stars set to be honored at the Kennedy Center celebration include George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, the rock band Kiss, and actor-singer Michael Crawford.
Trump described Gaynor as ‘one of the most revered singer of the American disco era,’ praising her song, I Will Survive as an ‘unbelievable song’.
‘I have heard it, like everyone else here, thousands of times. And it is one of those few that get better every time you hear it,’ he said. ‘And no one can sing it like her.’
