On Tuesday, Justice Natalie Adams told Beau Lamarre-Condon’s childhood friend that she will not be charged over her part in the alleged double murder.

The friend, known by the pseudonym Elizabeth Kennedy for legal reasons, started giving evidence over AVL.

Crown prosecutors asked Ms Kennedy if she was willing to give evidence about her time with Lamarre-Condon on February 21, 22 and 23, 2024 – in the days after the alleged murders.

Justice Adams told Ms Kennedy that her evidence ‘may prove that she concealed a serious offence’, namely Lamarre-Condon’s first count of murder.

The judge also said her evidence could prove that she was an accessory after the fact on his second count of murder and his break-and-enter charge.

Ms Kennedy was granted a certificate, which means she can’t be charged with any offences based on her evidence.

Ms Kennedy told the court Lamarre-Condon (pictured) allegedly secretly took Jesse Baird’s spare house key to cut his own version.

He then allegedly let himself into Baird’s Paddington terrace one night while Baird was asleep, took his phone, took it across the road and unlocked it.

She said Lamarre-Condon started blocking contacts, deleting photos, and turned on his Snapchat location sharing so he could track Baird’s movements.

He also turned off Baird’s morning alarms, the court heard.

Ms Kennedy told the court Baird (pictured below) was starting a new job and that she assumed Lamarre-Condon wanted him to miss his alarm and be late for work.

He then returned the phone to Baird’s room and plugged the charger back in.

Ms Kennedy said Lamarre-Condon went to her house, asked her to leave her phone inside her bedroom while they spoke outside, and told her about the alleged break-in.

‘He said, “I’ve got to tell you something crazy, please don’t judge me,” and this is when I heard about the first [alleged] break-in,’ she told the court.

‘He sounded excited, like happy, like he knew he’d [allegedly] gotten away with it but nervous, and said it was crazy and that I needed to stop him.’

‘I said how can I not let you do that again when you don’t tell me until after, but he knew it was wrong.’

She told the court he allegedly broke into Baird’s house a second time to take his phone and wallet, but it went wrong when he dropped a phone charger and woke Baird.

Ms Kennedy told the court the second alleged break-in was in August 2023.

She alleged that Lamarre-Condon told her that he shoved a bobby pin into the lock and took his wallet to ‘make it look like a robbery’.

‘He told me over [encrypted messaging app] Signal that Jesse had woken up because he dropped a phone charger,’ she told the court.

Baird woke up and chased Lamarre-Condon down the street but didn’t catch up to him, the court heard.

The court previously heard that Baird called police and made a statement, but he couldn’t identify the alleged thief.

Ms Kennedy told the court: ‘[Lamarre-Condon] said that if Jesse caught up to him, he would have had to assault him because [Baird] couldn’t find out who he was.’

‘He said he would have to assault him so he could get away. He said he felt bad if he had to assault him.’

Ms Kennedy said Lamarre-Condon allegedly told her that he turned Baird’s phone on flight mode and dropped it down a drain.

Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to one count of break and enter.

She told the court that Lamarre-Condon told her about other occasions when he went to Baird’s house.

‘He said he was going back and was creeping out the front window, but he didn’t go in because Jesse was having intercourse with another man,’ she said.

She told the court it happened twice.

On the first occasion, she said Lamarre-Condon took photos of Baird having sex with another man and sent them to her.

‘There were blinds but you could see through and it was two men, one on top of the other,’ she said.
