The founder of the Open Arms Ministry and a Kumasi-based cleric known as St. Sark, Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, has made controversial remarks on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 flagbearer.
St. Sark stated that Dr. Bawumia would not vote on his own behalf on December 7 and that not even President Akufo-Addo and former President Kufuor would support the NPP’s nominee.
St. Sark elaborated on the reasons behind his bold assertion in an interview with Onua FM. Voting for Dr. Bawumia, he explained, might have disastrous consequences since he is allegedly “spiritually entangled.”
“Bawumia knows that casting his own ballot will get him into a lot of trouble, therefore he won’t do it. This election has both advantages and disadvantages. St. Sark claims that Bawumia is unable to vote for himself because he is entangled in a spiritual entanglement.
The pastor went on to suggest that Dr. Bawumia’s alleged spiritual entanglement is linked to his alleged involvement with a shrine, which St. Sark called a “abomination to Christendom”.
This accusation has sparked additional discussion, with some arguing that it is untrue and others viewing it as an attack on Dr. Bawumia’s moral fiber.
Dr. Bawumia was also reprimanded by St. Sark for his broken promises, particularly the building of secondary schools in Zongo communities. The failure to meet this vow was viewed by the pastor as an example of dishonesty.
The Bible says that lying is prohibited in God’s presence and that the devil is the parent of all liars. St. Sark also proclaimed Bawumia to be dishonest.
