Two young Ghanaian talents at FC Barcelona Atlètic, David Oduro and Abdul Aziz Issah, are set to earn call-ups to the Ghana national football team for next month’s international friendly against Mexico national football team.

The fixture, scheduled for May 22, forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Reports from Spanish outlet SPORT indicate both players will be available unless Barça Atlètic reach the promotion playoffs and block their release.

Issah has impressed this season with four goals and consistent performances under coach Juliano Belletti. The winger already has senior international experience, having featured in a 2025 friendly against Trinidad and Tobago.

Oduro, meanwhile, is nearing a return from injury and could receive his maiden Black Stars call-up.

Ghana, now led by Carlos Queiroz, will use the Mexico clash as part of a broader build-up to the World Cup, where they face England, Croatia, and Panama in Group L.
