A former nurse who allegedly threatened to kill Jewish patients in footage that shocked Australia has been charged.

Ahmad Rashad Nadir was arrested on Tuesday night by NSW Police.

He was charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend, and possessing a prohibited drug.

Nadir appeared in a video alongside fellow nurse Sarah Abu Lebdeh earlier this month where they boasted of withholding treatment from Israeli patients and even killing them.

He has been granted bail and will  appear in court on March 19.

It’s understood that Nadir was ‘receiving ongoing medical treatment’, which delayed the ability to charge him.

His arrest comes more than a week after detectives charged 26-year-old Lebdeh when she attended Sutherland Police Station in southern Sydney with her lawyer at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The Condell Park woman was charged with three Commonwealth offences: threatening violence to group, using a carriage service to threaten to kill and using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

She was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on March 19.

On the night of February 13, a day after the alleged anti-Semitic video was posted to social media, Nadir was rushed to hospital amid concerns for his mental health.

Police confirmed at the time that emergency services were called to his home in the western Sydney suburb of Bankstown due to concerns about his welfare.

It’s unclear how much of Nadir’s time has been spent in hospital, and in his Bankstown townhouse, in the days since.

Both nurses have been deregistered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of NSW, meaning they are unable to practice anywhere in Australia.
