The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) will hold an emergency meeting today, July 17, 2025.

According to the Central Bank, the meeting is to review developments in the economy over the past two months.

This is contrary to the bank’s scheduled monetary policy calendar.

Reports have noted that the shift was due to the clash between the initial date and the presentation of the mid-year budget review.

The Bank of Ghana on July 7, 2025, revised the date for the Monetary Policy Committee from Monday, July 28, 2025, to Wednesday, July 30 2025.

There are, however, mixed views on whether or not the policy rate will be revised.

While some call for a reduction in the rates due to favourable economic conditions, others want the policy rate to be maintained.
