NDC’s Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq has lost the Okaikwei Central seat to his NPP rival, Patrick Yaw Boamah, who successfully retained his position in the just-concluded general elections.

The Electoral Commission declared Patrick Yaw Boamah the winner after the final results were tallied, with Boamah securing 21,099 votes, while Abdulai Abu Baba Sadiq, representing the National Democratic Congress, received 19,368 votes.

The Deputy Returning Officer for Okaikwei Central, Harrison Kwabena Agyapa, officially declared the results, confirming that all 141 polling station results had been fully collated as per the court’s directive to include the 31 outstanding polling stations.

Speaking to the media after his victory, Patrick Yaw Boamah expressed confidence in the legal process, stating, “We had to follow due process, and we always believed the numbers were not going to change. We thank God for a peaceful exercise and a peaceful declaration.”
