Popular Ghanaian entertainment personality and former CEO of 3 Music Network, Baba Sadiq, has made allegedly made history by clinching the Okaikwei Central parliamentary seat from the incumbent, Patrick Yaw Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The elections, held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, were characterized by an appreciable voter turnout and it was an intense competition.

However, tensions brewed in the constituency over conflicting reports about who had won the seat.

The suspense is however coming to some dramatic end on the morning of Sunday, December 8, 2024, after Baba Sadiq took to Facebook to declare his victory.

In a simple post at around 9 a.m., Baba Sadiq wrote:
“Okaikwei Central, change is here. Alhamdulilahi 🙏🏿”

The announcement was met with widespread reactions on social media, with supporters celebrating the success of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate.

While the Electoral Commission is yet to officially confirm the results, Baba Sadiq’s confident announcement and the jubilant reactions from his camp signal a new chapter for Okaikwei Central.
