The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has officially confirmed that Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been added to the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register following the completion of his prison sentence for the sexual assault of a minor.

Baba Ijesha, who was convicted in 2021 for assaulting a 14-year-old girl, was recently released from custody.
Shortly after his release, an unverified video circulated online showing him seated in a vehicle, appearing relieved and stating that he needed rest.
The state government’s confirmation came amid false reports claiming that the Court of Appeal had overturned his conviction.
Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, dismissed the rumours as false and irresponsible, stressing that Baba Ijesha’s conviction remains valid.
He also cautioned actor Yomi Fabiyi and others spreading the misinformation to stop misleading the public.
In an official statement shared on X (Twitter), the DSVA reaffirmed the Attorney-General’s position and confirmed that the actor’s name has now been listed in the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register in accordance with Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law (2021).
The agency said the move is part of ongoing efforts to protect minors, ensure accountability, and provide the public with accurate information about convicted offenders.
