Renowned Ghanaian boxer, Ayittey Powers has revealed that his girlfriend, Mavis, played an instrumental role in his spiritual life before he began his boxing career.
According to him, he found himself in a predicament where he was struggling to meet his basic needs in life until he met his girlfriend.
The boxer shared that Mavis made immense financial contributions to his life and was a prayerful lady who introduced him to prayer during their relationship.
“Things were tough for me to the extent that I didn’t have money for transportation. My girlfriend, who sold some stuff, would pay for my fare to visit her place. She cooked for me, and every time she insisted we pray. I even questioned her about the consistent prayers, but there came a time when I also started praying on my own,” Ayittey said while speaking on The Real Talk podcast aired on YouTube.

The retired boxer further recounted how his girlfriend became homeless, and their situation worsened, but God came through for them.
“It got to a point where she was evicted from her house, and her selling spot was also taken away, so I moved her to stay in my family house. All this was as a result of helping me. My kind neighbor gave her a room to stay and pay later, which I believe was God’s provision,” he added.
Ayittey Powers revealed that his life was transformed after he had a dream to attend the late Nigerian pastor TB Joshua’s church, and through this, he started getting offers for boxing bouts and gained fame.

“One night, I had a vision where a woman told me to go to the Synagogue Church, and I would get my breakthrough in life. My wife encouraged me to attend TB Joshua’s church… I refused initially but had another vision, and despite financial constraints, I finally went. When I returned, I got a call from Australia, and that was it,” he narrated.
