The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly, Mr. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, has underscored the importance of inclusive governance as a key driver for sustainable development at the local level.

He told the press after an emergency general meeting convened for the consideration and approval of the 2025 mid‑year revised budget.

The meeting, held at the Assembly Hall, brought together elected members, government appointees, and other stakeholders from the various electoral areas within Ayawaso East. The discussions centered on aligning the revised budget with pressing developmental priorities, including infrastructure, sanitation, and social services.

In his remarks, Mr. Ibrahim stressed that meaningful development can only be achieved when governance is participatory and inclusive. He encouraged Assembly members to engage their constituents regularly, ensure transparency in decision‑making, and foster collaboration between community members and local authorities.

“The needs of our people are diverse, and the only way we can meet them is through a collective approach. Inclusive governance is not just about consultation but also about giving every resident a voice in the development process,” the MCE stated.

He further explained that the revised budget was designed to address both ongoing and emerging challenges, including improving road networks, enhancing waste management systems, and supporting education and health projects across the municipality.

Assembly members present expressed support for the call, noting that inclusive engagement has the potential to reduce conflicts, improve accountability, and accelerate development.

They pledged to work closely with local communities to ensure that the revised budget translates into tangible improvements in livelihoods.

The emergency meeting concluded with the formal consideration of the mid‑year revised budget, which will serve as a roadmap for the Assembly’s projects and programs for the rest of the year.

Mr. Ibrahim reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to prudent financial management and urged all stakeholders to embrace collaboration as the surest path to sustainable progress in Ayawaso East.
