Talent manager and entertainment pundit, Kwesi Ernest has emphasised the importance of awards in the careers of artistes, saying they bring recognition and respect.
Speaking during a discussion on Peace FM, Kwesi Ernest stated that anyone who downplays the value of awards might be going through emotional struggles.
“Anyone who claims that an award isn’t important to an individual may be feeling depressed,” he said.
He explained that both in Ghana and across the world, awards play a key role in an artiste’s journey and are a sign of appreciation for their work.
“In Ghana and everywhere else in the world, awards hold huge value in the lives of artistes. Receiving recognition for your work at any point is meaningful,” he stated.
Kwesi Ernest further noted that while awards may not always come with money, they carry a level of prestige that boosts an artiste’s image.
“Awards are not merely about monetary gain; it’s about the prestige and the respect that accompanies them,” he added.
