Togbe Afede XIV has led a high-level delegation to inspect the Ho Aviation Academy site

Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, has led a high-level delegation to inspect the Ho Aviation Academy site as preparations advance toward its official launch.

He was accompanied by James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister; Stephen Adom, Ho Municipal Chief Executive; chiefs of Asogli State; engineers; and visiting partners from Sweden for the inspection tour at the Ho Airport enclave.

The exercise formed part of the concluding review process ahead of the opening of the academy, which is expected to host a pilot-training school, an aircraft maintenance unit, and other aviation-related facilities designed to strengthen Ghana’s technical aviation capacity.

Togbe Afede expressed satisfaction with the steady pace of work, saying the initiative reflected his “unwavering commitment to job creation, professional skills development, and expanded opportunities for the youth of the Volta Region.”

Gunu commended the strong collaboration among stakeholders and described the project as a “transformational investment” capable of stimulating growth and widening the region’s economic prospects.

He added that the academy would complement ongoing efforts to position the Volta Region as a hub for innovation, technical excellence, and private sector partnerships.

The team expressed confidence that the Ho Aviation Academy would emerge as a major centre of excellence and a catalyst for new opportunities within Ghana’s aviation sector once operational.
