Tryton Motors Limited, the official dealers in JAC vehicles in Ghana, will from the first quarter of next year, begin the assembling of JAC vehicles in the country.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tryton Motors Limited, Mr Jihad Hijazi, it had already obtained a government license for the assembling of the vehicles.

He further said that Tryton Motors Limited was in discussions with JAC Motors and the companies in charge of the erection and supply of the assembly plant for the assembling of the vehicles in the country.

Mr Hijazi disclosed this during the media launch of a wide range of light, medium, and heavy-duty JAC commercial trucks in Accra on Tuesday.

Speaking to media, Mr Hijazi said, “The assembling plant is our biggest project now. Currently, we have a government license for us to start the plant. We also have the technical, product, and warranty agreement for the manufacturer themselves.”

“We are currently having a tripartite discussion with both JAC and the companies in charge of the erection and supply of the assembly plant. This is because the assembly plant requires that you bring in the equipment to take care of the models of vehicles you are going to assemble,” Mr Hijazi added.

Mr Hijazi said that the establishment of the assembling plant would help promote the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and offer Tryton Motors Limited the opportunity to trade on the African continent.

He noted that although Tryton Motors Limited was not into component manufacturing as it was a specialised industry, it had the intention of joining the component club.

“Component is extremely a sophisticated business, and even the manufacturer purchases components from hundreds of suppliers globally. So, being a component supplier, manufacturer, or innovator is a possibility, but it is limited in scope in the sense that you cannot do everything,” Mr Hijazi emphasised.

Mr Hijazi assured customers of the JAC commercial trucks and it other models of JAC vehicles of high value and efficient service delivery through its mobile outreach services.

Additionally, he said that Tryton Motors Limited had signed an agreement with the bus section of JAC Motors Limited for the introduction of commercial JAC buses onto the market.

The Group Business Development Director of Tryton Motors Limited, Mr Fadi Fattal, in his product presentation, said commercial trucks were designed to meet the conditions of the country’s road and transport systems.

Additionally, he pointed out that, the commercial trucks would help transform the country’s economy through the swift and efficient transportation and distribution of goods and logistics.
