A West Australian dad and his two young children have been found dead inside a villa in Bali, with police investigating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide.

Damien John Shaw, 56, from Fremantle, was found dead alongside his Indonesian-born children, a six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter, inside their bungalow in Kuta at about 10.14am local time on Sunday.

Shaw had been staying at the Kuta bungalow with his two children after his wife travelled to Jakarta about four days earlier, according to police.

On Sunday morning, his wife reportedly called him and, during the conversation, heard one of the children crying and his daughter saying, ‘Stop, Daddy.’

She was then unable to reach him again.

His wife contacted the bungalow manager and asked staff to check on her husband and children.

Workers and neighbours went to the villa, knocked repeatedly, and eventually forced the door open after receiving no response.

Inside a bedroom, they found Shaw dead. His six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were found dead on the floor.

‘Yes, there are Australian father and two kids found dead. The case is still being investigated,’ Bali Regional Police Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Ariasandy said.
