Ghanaian international Augustine Boakye was in blistering form for Saint Etienne in their French Ligue 2 opener against Laval on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

The 24-year-old midfielder started and played for 71 minutes as his outfit settled for a draw against their opponents in the highly competitive clash, held at the Stade Francis Le Basser.

Boakye played a pivotal role by scoring and registering an assist, contributing to Saint Etienne’s 3-3 away draw against Laval.

Laval shot into the lead after just 14 minutes into the match through Malik Tchokounte, before France international Irvin Cardona leveled the scores for the visitors in the 27th minute.

Boakye rose to the occasion in the 35th minute, registering his name on the scoresheet to put his side in front after being set up by Aimen Moueffek.
