Former Ghana international Augustine Arhinful has raised concerns over Otto Addo’s squad selection and decisions following the Black Stars’ 5-1 defeat to Austria in a pre-World Cup friendly in Vienna.

The heavy loss has piled pressure on Addo, with questions being asked about the team’s readiness ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup which is just less than three months away.

Arhinful, believes the constant introduction of new players into the squad could be affecting cohesion at a crucial stage. “He has called so many new players into the team, and I think it’s not right. We are about to go to the World Cup, you must to know what we’re looking for,” he said.

The Black Stars will now look to respond when they face four-time world champions Germany next at the MHP Arena on Monday, March 31.

Ghana are also scheduled to play Mexico in April and Wales in June as part of their preparations for the tournament.

The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
