The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has been implicated in a controversy surrounding a mining dispute between Angela List’s company, Nguvu Mining Limited, and Adamus Resources Limited. The dispute began when Angela List claimed that Nguvu Mining owned 90% of Adamus Ghana’s shares, which Allan Roy Morrison and Adamus Australia countered was a fraudulent acquisition.

As the case unfolded, an interlocutory injunction was granted to restrain Angela List and her appointees from acting as directors of Adamus Ghana. However, Angela List continued to export gold despite the injunction, and it was later revealed that she had received an opinion from the Deputy Attorney General, Diana Asonaba Dapaah, advising her to continue with the export.

This opinion is contrary to established legal principles, which hold that the service of an application for injunction provisionally injuncts a party until the application is determined. The Attorney General’s position in this instance has raised questions about potential motivations and why the same principles were not applied in a separate case involving the President and a constitutional matter .
