Athletic Bilbao forward Iñaki Williams has expressed his frustration and disappointment over the officiating in his team’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final defeat to Barcelona.

The Ghana international had a goal disallowed in the 86th minute following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review, which he found strange and unfair.

Williams criticized the VAR decision, stating that it was inconsistent with the rules.

“I find it strange that these types of plays are canceled. I don’t think it’s fair,” he said in a post-match interview.

The forward also implied that the officiating standards were not applied consistently throughout the match. “It seems that the rules are not the same for everyone,” he added.

Barcelona won the match 2-0, with goals from Gavi and Lamine Yamal, and will face the winner of the second semi-final between Real Madrid and Real Mallorca in the final.
