Ghana Division One side FC AshantiGold 04 are in advanced discussions with Italian Serie A side S.S. Lazio over a potential partnership agreement.
Talks between the two clubs were led by co-owner Rahim Ibrahim, who engaged in discussions with Lazio representative Luigi De Sanctis Balduzzi, confirmed by the club on social media.
Although an agreement has not yet been finalised, negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage, with both parties exploring the possibility of a strategic partnership.
The potential collaboration is expected to boost AshantiGold’s development plans as they aim to strengthen their structure and secure a return to the topflight.
The Obuasi-based club is currently leading the Access Bank Division One League, Zone 2 table with 46 points after 22 matches, as they continue their push for promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
