Cheith per reports was killed by kidnapers

The Ashanti Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 20-year-old Senegalese national, identified as Cheith Toure, in Kumasi.

On Monday October, 20, 2025, the police confirmed in a statement signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, that Toure’s body is currently at the Ebenezer Mortuary in Tafo, pending further examination.

According to initial reports, a man identified only as Issah, who claimed to be Toure’s brother, brought the deceased to the mortuary.

Issah reportedly told mortuary attendants that Toure had been involved in a motor accident and was rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital in critical condition on October 16, 2025.

However, hospital records have contradicted this account, revealing that Toure was already dead upon arrival. Medical staff also noted that the deceased sustained severe abdominal injuries, raising further suspicion about the true cause of death.

Police have described the circumstances surrounding Toure’s death as suspicious and are working to establish what led to the fatal injuries.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured the public of a thorough and transparent investigation to uncover the facts behind the death of the young Senegalese national.
