The Oyoko Royal Family has confirmed the passing of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III at the age of 91.

News of her death was formally delivered to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during an emergency session of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Born Nana Ama Konadu, she was the biological sister of the current Asantehene and became the 14th Queen Mother of Asanteman following the passing of her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, five years ago.

During her tenure, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was celebrated for her wisdom, devotion to Asante customs, and steadfast loyalty to the royal lineage. She played a pivotal role in preserving cultural traditions and offered unshakable support to her brother’s reign.

Her presence at the Manhyia Palace was more than ceremonial; it embodied unity, continuity, and stability for both the royal family and the wider Asante nation.

While official details are scarce, family insiders say she passed away in the early hours of August 7, 2025. The Manhyia Palace is expected to issue a formal statement and outline funeral arrangements once the necessary traditional rites and protocols have been fulfilled.
