The Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has said that the team’s CAF Confederation Cup game against Nigerian side Kwara United will not be an easy fixture.
According to him, Kwara United are one of the best teams in Africa and Asante Kotoko will not underrate them.
The Communications Director noted that some football fans are underestimating the Nigerian club’s potential because the team is not popular on the continent.
Speaking in an interview with Happy Sports, Sarfo Duku indicated that Kwara United are a very good team and Kotoko will approach the game with all seriousness and prepare adequately.

“On the face of the draw, someone who does not have in-depth analytical knowledge of football might think Kotoko will get a walkover. However, if you do a critical analysis of the game, you’d realise that Kotoko have a very big task ahead.
“We all know how football is vibrant in Nigeria, so if Kwara is representing them at the global stage it should tell you that there is something special about the team…The rivalry between Ghana-Nigeria stems from the Black Stars to club football, so they will come into the game with all seriousness and play their best football,” he said in Twi.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Asante Kotoko will face Nigerian side Kwara United in their first preliminary match between September 19 and 21, before traveling to Nigeria for the second leg between September 26 and 28, 2025.
