Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have sent a stern warning to Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi over the delayed payment of Albert Amoah’s transfer fee.

The former Great Olympics marksman recently secured a move to the Libyan outfit on the back of his scintillating form for the Porcupine Warriors.

According to sources, the Libyan giants have yet to honour the agreed fee for the forward, raising concerns over contractual compliance.

However, the hierarchy of the Ghanaian giants has set a clear deadline for the payment, with the club prepared to take formal action should the Libyan side fail to comply.

“The club expects Al Ahly Benghazi to honour their financial obligations regarding Albert Amoah’s transfer. If the payment is not made within the stipulated period, we will have no choice but to escalate the matter to CAF and FIFA to ensure the club’s rights are protected,” sources close to Kotoko told 3SPORTS.

The situation has drawn attention among Ghana Premier League followers, especially as Amoah continues to shine in Libya while Kotoko await the financial return from the deal.

Should Al Ahly Benghazi fail to meet the deadline, Kotoko are reportedly prepared to escalate the matter to CAF or FIFA to enforce the contractual obligations.

Amoah joined Asante Kotoko from the Dade Boys last season and swiftly established himself as a key cog in the team. He netted 16 goals in 30 league appearances for Kotoko, establishing himself as the club’s most potent weapon in attack and one of the standout players in the domestic championship.

In continental football, Amoah also impressed, scoring two goals in four appearances during the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds, despite Kotoko’s eventual elimination.
