Kumasi Asante Kotoko look to end their three-game losing streak as they come up against local rivals, Nations FC, at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Kotoko, desperate to bounce back, face a tough challenge as Nations FC are in fine form and aiming for the top spot in the Premier League standings.

Nations FC, however, are without key defender, Razak Simpson, who impressed on his Black Stars debut against Angola.

Despite this, they remain a formidable side, having secured three straight wins and kept clean sheets in each of those games against Nsoatreman, Karela, and Vision FC.

Their defensive solidity will be a significant test for Kotoko’s attack.

Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, are in a poor form, with defeats to Bechem United, Hearts of Lions, and Legon Cities.

They have also gone four games without a win, conceding in each match, highlighting their defensive struggles.

Kotoko’s recent history against Nations is also concerning.

The two sides have met twice since October 2023, with Nations winning one and the other ending in a draw.

Their most recent encounter in March 2024 saw Nations secure a 1-0 victory over the Kumasi-based Porcupine Warriors.

Kotoko have won four of their ten league games this season, drawing three and losing three. They have scored just eight goals (0.80 per match) while conceding seven (0.70 per match).

With Kotoko desperate for a turnaround and Nations FC eyeing the league’s summit, this clash promises to be a fierce contest.
