The Sporting Affairs Manager of Asante Kotoko, Kwasi Appiah, has sent a clear message of intent, revealing that the team’s primary objective is to win the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League (GPL) title.

The ultimate goal is to pay a fitting tribute to the club’s revered life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, whose unwavering support and vision have driven the team’s success.

The Porcupine Warriors have experienced a mixed season so far, currently on 28 points from 16 games, 2 points behind league leaders Hearts of Lions. Despite this, Appiah has made their title ambitions clear.

In an interview with Akoma FM, Appiah emphasized that winning the league trophy and earning a place in continental competitions are crucial steps in honoring Otumfuo’s unrelenting dedication and significant financial contributions to the club.

“I firmly believe our coach is well aware of the responsibility to do whatever it takes to secure our place in African competitions next season. Considering the talent within our squad and the commitment from the King, it would indeed be a significant honour to not only win the league but also secure an opportunity to compete on the continental stage, thereby bringing joy to Otumfuo,” he said.

Asante Kotoko has gone three years without winning the GPL title. The last time the Porcupine Warriors won it was in 2022, under the management of Prosper Ogum, when they secured their 25th league title.
