Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have set their sights on securing the services of experienced attacker Joseph Esso in the upcoming transfer window.

The Porcupine Warriors are keen on strengthening their attack for next season, and Esso, who currently plies his trade for Dreams FC, has emerged as one of their top targets heading into the summer window.

Esso rejoined the Still Believe lads in March 2024 and has since established himself as a key member of the squad. This season, the 28-year-old has racked up 9 goals in 29 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

According to reports, negotiations are ongoing between Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC over a possible transfer in the impending window.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC are said to be ready to cash in on the enterprising attacker at the right price. At the moment, the club is focused on the remaining Ghana Premier League matches, despite significant interest from Kotoko in their player.

Coach Karim Zito, who recently joined Kotoko from Dreams FC, is expected to play a major role in the acquisition of Esso.

With his wealth of experience in the domestic league, Esso could be a great addition to the Asante Kotoko squad should the move materialize.

Esso is no stranger to the Ghanaian top-flight, having had spells with Ebusua Dwarfs and Hearts of Oak.

The Porcupine Warriors are fourth in the Premier League standings with 54 points, while Dreams FC sit in 9th place with 43 points.
