Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of midfielder Joseph Amoah on a four-year deal, following the successful completion of his medicals.

The 21-year-old joins from Legon Cities, where he made his debut as a teenager two seasons ago and went on to make close to 50 league appearances.

Amoah is a versatile and physically gifted player who is comfortable in midfield and can also slot in at full back. He is strong, quick, and capable of dictating the tempo of play with confidence on the ball and good positional awareness.

“I’m absolutely elated to make this move,” Amoah said. “Coming from a Legon Cities side that had a tough season, to now joining the biggest club in Ghana, is a huge step in my career. There were a few offers on the table, but for me it was always Asante Kotoko. The ambition here is clear, and I want to be part of something special especially in the CAF confederation cup.”

The youngster was previously in talks with rivals Hearts of Oak, but negotiations broke down, clearing the path for Kotoko to move decisively for his signature.

Amoah becomeS one of the new additions under the club’s new technical setup led by coach Abdul Karim Zito, as the Reds look to strengthen key positions and mount a strong challenge for the upcoming campaign.
