Asante Kotoko have dismissed reports suggesting that Interim Head Coach Prince Yaw Owusu left the team’s camp without informing management, describing the claims as false.
In an official statement, the club clarified that the coach had duly sought permission to be absent in order to attend to urgent family matters. The club further explained that Owusu is currently mourning the passing of his mother, and his temporary absence was fully communicated and approved by management.
The statement sought to reassure supporters and the general public that there was no misconduct or breach of protocol on the part of the interim coach. It also urged stakeholders to disregard the circulating reports, which have generated speculation about the team’s technical setup.
Kotoko added that Owusu is expected to return to Kumasi promptly, with his arrival anticipated later today. The club emphasized that any further updates regarding the technical team or related matters will be communicated through official channels.
The development comes amid heightened scrutiny of the club’s activities, with management keen to maintain transparency and clarity around team operations during the ongoing period.
