Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is in the final months of his stay at Arsenal if reports in the UK press are anything to go by.

According to a Daily Mail report, Partey, who is in the final six months of his contract, will be allowed to leave at the end of the 2024/2025 season.

The reports indicate that Arsenal are looking to free up their wage bill and recruit more young talents in the summer transfer window.

With Partey on a reported £250,000 weekly wage, Arsenal are reportedly averse to increasing his salary.

Speaking on Partey and Jorginho’s contract situation on January 3, Mikel Arteta said that a decision will be made at the right time.

“Well, that is a possibility when that situation is in the contract. It’s close communication with them to understand as well what the idea is, what they want to do, and our intentions, and then decide what the best option for everybody is. But it’s two players I am very, very happy with, and they are such a value in the squad.

“When I want to give them the right mind frame because it’s the most important part of the season,” he said.

In the 2023/2024 season, Thomas Partey has played 30 matches for Arsenal across all competitions.

He has scored two goals and made two assists.
