Dancehall Artiste Shatta Wale has described the decision to arrest young Ghanaians for brandishing toy guns as primitive. Ghanaian cuisine recipes

He believes these young people arrested could be guided by the police rather than be arrested.

In a post shared via social media, Shatta Wale said: “Arresting ghetto youth for playing with toy guns and failing to guide them on Christmas celebration is the most primitive act in 2024. THE TRUTH – UNLESS THEY KEEL GOD💪#NG“.

The Ghana Police Service, through a statement, announced the arrest of some 26 persons for brandishing and firing toy guns.

The police, in their statement, said the act breaches Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 Act (29).

The craze about toy guns started in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, where young Ghanaians were reminiscing about their childhood games with these toy guns.

The videos went viral on social media and got other people involved in the fun. However, there have been concerns raised by some well-meaning Ghanaians of the view that some criminals could take advantage of it.
