An Adenta Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, for allegedly publishing false news intended to cause fear and panic.

Presiding Judge Madam Angela Attachie ordered that Eshun, 33, undergo a psychiatric examination at a government psychiatric facility before the next adjourned date. Eshun, a private security guard, is facing a charge of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic, with his plea currently reserved. The case has been adjourned to January 15, 2026.

The prosecution explained that Eshun published statements on his TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook accounts under the name Ebo Noah, claiming that the world would be destroyed by floods on December 25, 2025, following heavy rainfall. He reportedly also claimed that he was building an ark to save people, an assertion that compelled some individuals to travel to Ghana.

According to the prosecution, the complainant in the case is the Ghana Police Service, and between August and December 2025, Eshun circulated several videos on social media under the handle @Ebonoah, reiterating the alleged flood prophecy and ark construction.

On December 31, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation, Eshun was arrested at his hideout in Weija-Gbawe, Greater Accra Region. In his caution statement, Eshun admitted to creating and sharing the videos, but clarified that the boat he referred to as an “ark” belonged to a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina, Central Region, and not to him.

Eshun acknowledged that his claims were false and that there was no impending flood, admitting that the content he shared on social media was fabricated. The prosecution indicated that investigations are ongoing.
