Ace journalist Collins Atta Poku has questioned President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the decline of the Black Stars in his tenure.

He questioned whether President Akufo-Addo would be pleased with leaving office with the dent that, during his time in office, the team failed to qualify for the AFCON.

Speaking on Pure TV, he wondered whether President Akufo-Addo is bothered by the Black Stars winning just one game in their last 10 AFCON matches.

“Ghana have won one match out of 10. Mr. President, when we gave you the national team, we had already qualified and played in the semi-final. Didn’t you find it pleasing?” he said.

“Today, you are on the verge of leaving office with a Black Stars team that did not qualify for AFCON. Nana Akufo-Addo, His Excellency the President, does it not worry you? How do you feel?” he added.

The Black Stars are on the brink of not qualifying for their first AFCON tournament in 20 years. The team has lost two and drawn two out of four games in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Ghana will need to win their remaining two games while hoping that Sudan, who are second on the table, lose their respective games.
