Lagos, Nigeria / Accra, Ghana — July 2025 — Apprise Music & Media, Ghana’s leading platform for music distribution and rights management, has reinforced its Pan-African mission with a strategic visit to Nigeria. The delegation was led by Operations & Publishing Lead Grace Nyele Mensah, who recently graduated from the Music Business Academy for Africa (MBA Africa), and Media & Communications Lead Philip NeeWhang.

From MBA graduation to industry diplomacy

Grace Nyele’s visit to Nigeria was both a personal celebration and a professional milestone. As a graduate of the final MBA Africa cohort—prior to its evolution into the Creative Business Academy—she exemplifies a new generation of music industry professionals dedicated to rights advocacy and structured publishing. Her graduation marks a significant step forward in her journey as a Pan-African thought leader in music metadata and copyright strategy.

    A proven industry strategist

Grace’s accomplishments extend beyond Ghana’s borders. She was a participant in the prestigious Soundscape Publishing Programme, a Ghana-France initiative focused on cross-cultural copyright development. As a certified Soundscape fellow, she has played a key role in strengthening Ghana’s copyright systems and international visibility.

In October 2024, she represented Ghana at the MaMA Music Convention & Festival in Paris, engaging global publishing stakeholders such as SACEM and CARO.B Music Publishing. Her participation was supported by France’s AFD and Ghana’s Creative Arts Agency, further advancing Ghana’s position in global publishing conversations.

    Championing rights and networks

Within Apprise Music, Grace has led rights and metadata strategies for high-profile artists and respected record labels, including Big Ben Music Production, Eazyway Music Production, and Agya Paye Records. Artists such as Joyce Blessing, Amakye Dede, and Noble Nketsiah have benefited from her commitment to digital rights management and industry education.

She has also spearheaded educational initiatives, delivering music business workshops at the University of Education, Winneba, and leading industry seminars under the Apprise Music umbrella.

    Strengthening Pan-African creative ties

In Lagos, Apprise Music executives met with Sony Music Publishing and the Creative Industries Initiative for Africa (CIIFA). These discussions explored digital music policy, synchronization strategies, and the urgent need for robust metadata infrastructure across the continent. The meetings reflect Apprise’s dual focus on distribution and the long-term protection of artists’ rights.

    Apprise Music’s mission in action

Now a full-service platform, Apprise Music offers AI-powered metadata enrichment, rights administration, marketing, production, analytics, and industry education. The Nigeria visit is a clear demonstration of the platform’s broader mission—not just to deliver African music to the world, but to build the infrastructure that supports fair recognition, remuneration, and long-term creative equity.
