While visiting the Manhyia Palace, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu Il issued a severe warning to the family of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The meeting, which attracted public attention, took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, and was part of continuing interactions between the royal palace and the family after the death of the renowned inventor and founder of Kantanka Automobile, according to a report by Yen.

Otumfuo stated unequivocally that he would not tolerate needless disputes within the family.

“Mempe basabasa biaa,” he said in Twi, meaning “I do not want any form of misunderstanding.

The Asantehene emphasized the need for unity while reminding the family of the late Apostle Safo’s legacy and the importance of protecting it. “Your father was full of ideas. Don’t allow division to destroy his creation. “I will not permit unnecessary arguments,” Otumfuo went on.

Reports state that disputes over succession and management have been brewing within some family segments ever since Apostle Safo’s death.

Therefore, the Asantehene’s remarks were taken as both a warning and a plea for peace.

Palace observers said the message was clear-cut and left no room for misinterpretation.

“Otumfuo’s statements were simple yet profoundly powerful. A person close to the palace claims that “he wants peace to prevail.”

Since then, the statement has garnered attention on social media, with many people applauding Otumfuo for intervening at a crucial time. Only his authority, according to some users, could stop the situation from getting worse.

As the Kantanka family navigates this delicate time, all eyes are on them. Otumfuo has made it clear that the family’s peace and dignity, and consequently Asanteman’s, must be protected at all costs.
